Myrtle Beach Vacation

Dec 24, 2004 through Jan 1, 2005

We returned to Myrtle Beach in 2004 for the first time since we had moved to Missouri, and we had a great time.  We stayed in an ocean-front condo in North Myrtle Beach.

First, here are a few general photos . . . a daytime view of the ocean from our balcony . . . a photo of Beverly on the balcony . . . a quick sunrise glimpse of what I assumed to be a pair of dolphins moving leisurely down the coast . . . Greg taking photos on the beach . . . Geremy and Greg after their round of golf at Man O' War . . . a really cool squirrel that we saw at Man O' War . . . Galen, Sheila, Geremy, Margaret, and Greg after playing golf at Tidewater . . .

The following are some photos of some of the ubiquitous gulls that inhabited the beach area:

We were blessed with gorgeous clear weather for most of the week, which made for some really spectacular sunrises:

And even though the sun didn't set over the water, the sunsets were quite beautiful as well:

While we were driving home on Jan 1st, we happened to pass through Cheraw, SC (on our way to my mom's house in NC) and we saw a statue of Dizzy Gillespie in a small park, so we stopped and checked it out.  As it turns out, Dizzy was born in Cheraw!  The first photo is of the statue, while the others are from sculptures and benches in another small park at the site of Dizzy's birthplace.

(The photos on this page were taken by both Beverly and me with our digital cameras.  Between us, we took about 500 photos during the week -- you gotta love digital photography!)
