Vegas Trip 2007

We went to Vegas again in 2007, this time with Greg's sister Deb and her husband Norman.  Between Beverly and Greg, we took 474 photos on the trip, and have selected 93 to put on the web site ... that's a lot of photos, but it was tough to narrow it down even that far ... so pace yourself ... don't try to take them in all at once ... but if you enjoy them, you can click here to see photos from our 2006 Vegas trip also ...

The photos below give you a taste of the variety of things that can be experienced on The Strip, although if you've been there you know that this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg ...

Wednesday night we ventured down to Fremont Street ... the first four images are of the amazing roof over the street, which sort of a 3-block-long curved LCD screen ...

On Thursday, we took a tour of the Ethel M chocolate factory ... they were processing caramel candies ... the fourth shot shows a huge chocolate "faucet" that a worker opened to fill a bucket while we were watching ... there is a beautiful cactus garden adjacent to the factory, so we took a few moments to tour it as well.

After stocking up on candy, we drove Northwest of Vegas and went hiking up on Mt Charleston ... what a great way to spend an afternoon!  The first photo was taken at the highest elevation on the mountain that is reachable by car, 8668 feet ... the second photo is of a nearby ski area, populated mostly by snowboarders when we were watching ... our hike took us through an area that had been flattened by an avalanche at some point, and we hiked up to a small waterfall which offer an excellent view of the nearby peaks and the valley below ... because we had dallied a bit in the valley, we didn't have enough time to get to the top of the trail, but it was a great experience nonetheless!

Thursday night, we went up onto the roof of the condos where Deb and Norman were staying and relaxed in the hot tub up there ... Greg took a few photos of the excellent view from the roof:

And here are some photos from the flights in and out of Vegas ... the first photo is the Grand Canyon .. the fourth and fifth shots are of Hoover Dam ... the others were just cool-looking pictures:
