Back to Gallery Listing Back to House Main Page Home Downstairs Garage RemodelWe had been using the right side of the downstairs for Greg's truck and the left side for general storage ... but we needed to make room for Beverly's new toy (see photo at bottom of page) ... so Greg sold the trailer this week and we moved some of the general storage stuff (golf clubs, etc.) into the storage area of the basement ... the rest will need to be reorganized and coexist with the cars, so we had to do some remodeling ... We started the remodel by working on the side walls. Here are some "before" photos, taken just before we started work Nov 26, 2009 ... And here are some photos of the same areas taken the evening of Nov 27: We used regular OSB as poor-man's wainscoting (which will be primed and painted) ... above that we installed 60" high (4 panels stacked) band made up of a slat-wall product called Storewall ... we bought a sampling of hooks that clip into the panels to hold tools, cords, hoses, etc., and will buy more when we have a feel for which types work the best for our needs. Next steps:
