My sister Debbie and I love to play in golf tournaments together.  We played in a few tournaments when we were kids, but then for many years we weren't really able to because we just didn't live close enough to each other.  Then in 1999 we found ourselves both back in the Midwest for the first time in 18 years and we decided to start playing again.  Most of the tourneys we enter are alternate shot type tournaments in Iowa, but we also play in an occasional best shot (scramble) or other format tournament.

I've organized the information into pages by years, and have included all of the information that I can recall or find.  Click on a year to see the details for that year.

2010   2009   2008   2007   2006   2005   2004   2003   2002   1999-2001

From 2000-2008 we have been fortunate enough to win at least one tournament each year (in 2009 we could only muster a T-1, but that's close enough for us!) ... not so in 2010, but we'll be coming into 2011 with renewed hunger!  Of course, the most important result is that we have a really great time playing in these, and we've gotten to meet a lot of very nice people as well!

For those keeping score at home, here is a summary of our mixed 2-person tourney results:

  1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Other
1999   1 1
2000 1       2
2001 1         2
2002 2   1 1   1
2003 1 1   1 1 1
2004 1 4 1 1 1
2005 4 2 2     1
2006 5 2 1     2

About our golf cart:  After getting a couple of really doggy rental carts in 2005, we decided to get our own ... Greg bought a 1989 E-Z-Go from a guy in Missouri during the off-season, cleaned it up and added a windshield, club cover, steering column cooler, new hub caps, etc.  Then Debbie had the seats re-upholstered in Iowa, and she and Norman rebuilt their old 2-sled snowmobile trailer for transporting the cart to tournaments (which in 2008 was replaced by a re-conditioned flatbed trailer).  As you can see, the seats have one red (cardinal, actually) stripe and one purple stripe, which when combined with the overall gold color of the cart represent our respective alma maters (Iowa State U. and University of Northern Iowa).
